About Me: Hi! My name is Christina Aguilar-West and I am the fifth grade Science teacher and the Science lab teacher for kindergarten through fourth grade here at Burnet Elementary. I graduated from UTEP with High Honors and I am currently working on my Master's degree in Education! I have two children that I love and adore! Marina is in third grade here at Burnet and Jaden (JJ) is four years old in pre-k here. Lastly, I'm from Los Angeles, California and visit there often!
Experience: I have been a Science teacher here at Burnet for the last two years. I previously worked as a fifth grade teacher concentrating on Language Arts, Reading and Social Studies. I also worked as a Senior Science instructor for five years for a wonderful program called Mad Science. I've also worked as a Music teacher and have a passion for music! My mom has been a teacher for 30 years, so I have spent all my life in the classroom; it was meant to be! Hobbies: I love reading and writing poems and stories. I enjoy playing the piano and saxophone. I play a variety of instruments and love singing (ask the kids!). I love exploring and discovering, especially in Yosemite National Park. I am a Zumba instructor and LOVE dancing! I enjoy being active, going to the museum, zoo and spending quality time with my kiddos.
